About the event
Tony Messenger's award-winning series of columns led to legislation ending Missouri’s debtors’ prison scheme where poor Missourians accumulated charges for time spent in jail or on probation. He will update information about what is being accomplished to break this cycle in favor of those who cannot pay their bill as they await their day in court.
