An LGBTQIA+ Communications Guide

Recent news coverage on issues affecting Missouri’s trans community has introduced terminology that may be new to some of us. Better understanding of what we read or write about LGBTQIA+ citizens will guide us toward greater inclusivity.

This will be the focus of the next Missouri Professional Communicators (MPC) program, “Language Matters: An LGBTQIA+ Communications Guide,” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023.

Presenters will be Leslie Masaki (she/her) and Michele Siler (she/her), co-leaders of Shaare Emeth’s Keshet (Hebrew for “rainbow”) Committee. Leslie and Michele will discuss terminology surrounding gender and sexuality, using correct pronouns and selecting inclusive language in everyday communication.

Join this timely program at the St. Louis Artists’ Guild, 12 N. Jackson, Clayton, MO. While the event is free, we ask you RSVP by Sept. 29 to mpcnfpw@gmail.com so the gallery can be prepared for guests.
