MPC launches membership campaign

We know the benefits of Missouri Professional Communicators (MPC) membership. Now it’s time to share this information with others.

As part of the 2024-25 membership campaign, we ask you to invite three colleagues to submit their work in the National Federation of Press Women 2024 Communications Contest which more than 60 categories which include writing, editing, photography, graphics, radio and television, public relations and advertising. Look them up at https://www.nfpw.org/professional-contest.

One first-place entry in each category of the state contest automatically competes on the national level. Every entry receives constructive comments from the judge on that level.

If one of your colleagues joins MPC/NFPW and enters the contest, you will receive a $10 Starbucks gift card. Here’s all you do:

• Identify three people in the communications field who are not MPC members. Think of co-workers, creatives you follow online, etc.

• Write in your own words a short paragraph in the email the benefit(s) you’ve received from MPC membership. Members-only events are being added to regular programs being planned.

• Email the letter we have prepared (remember to put your name at the bottom).

To be eligible to compete in the contest, the entrant must be a member in good standing with NFPW and MPC (a single registration and fee of $110 for 2025). Entries must have been published or broadcast in the 2024 calendar year. Submissions are charged per entry with a single early-bird deadline fee.

So, between now and Dec. 31, 2024, please contact three people and share news about MPC and the communications contest. Download the letter below; thanks for your help with this important initiative.
